0 Inspiration Board #11: Green & Twine

I’m sharing beautiful rustic inspiration, perfect for all those outdoor weddings coming up this spring/summer! There’s something soft and lovely about these muted moss greens and neutral colors teamed with a soft ivory or off-white. Mixed with lots of rustic timber and natural twine it creates a really relaxed summery feel, that can be played up or down depending on how casual or formal you want to be. The great thing about this style is that you can DIY a lot of the elements, the whole point is to look handmade so it doesn't matter if things are a bit wonky or imperfect! With a little piece of burlap and some twine and you can create beautiful centerpieces, even a simple piece of string adds that final detail to your invitations.

The vibrant hues of a peacock feather inspire this inspiration board, from the deepest rich navy, brightest cobalt blue to the vibrant turquoise green. A color palette that is deep and masculine, but the introduction of pearlescent and metallic finishes add a touch of sophisticated luxury that would create an ultra-glamorous wedding. A colored sapphire engagement ring, touches of the most luxurious silks and satin's, elegant white on white florals, and the softest touch of the magnificently colored peacock feather to add a bit of feminine whimsy.

Candy stripes have been popping up all over the place recently, not just as cakes and other sweet treats, but also on stationery and decor! Candy reminds me of a children’s party - fun! Of course, being a girly-girl, sweet things should always be pink! Balanced out with lots of white and a pop of red, you can create a fun and playful wedding color palette, that has a bright and modern feel.

I’m inspired by the pastel perfection that is Ladurée.  I’m dreaming of  gooey macaroons, soft textured florals, pretty pinks, fresh yellows and minty greens, all with a dash of ooh-la-laa!

0 Inspiration Board #7: Anyone For Pimm's?

you can be sure that come rain or come shine British folk will be out in the garden spending time with family & friends, It’s pretty certain that in true British style we will crack open the Pimms to go with our soggy barbecue! Pimms is such a pretty drink, served in a jug packed full of brightly colored summer fruits, it’s the perfect inspiration for an intimate outdoor wedding. I love the idea of a relaxed picnic wedding, guests chilling out on picnic blankets and perhaps a lazy game of croquet on the lawn.

This inspiration is taken from the classic wedding scheme of white on white, but softened a little with hints of the palest pinks, blues and greens.  A subtle, pretty and feminine scheme with hints of shimmering pearl and mercury glass against the softest spring blooms and floating fabrics.  Perfect for a girly-girl who doesn't want pink, this look is understated, relaxed and sophisticated.

One of my favorite parts of planning is definitely the design aspects!  My favorite color would have to be an aqua/turquoise hue and because I usually gravitate to those, I decided to stay away.  Well I didn't go very far, but I decided to go with a mint/sea foam green color that just works out in such a dreamy way with lavender!  Don’t you agree?  Perfect for Spring or Summer and works out pretty much in any venue whether you have a garden setting or a classic ballroom.  Definitely one of my favorite boards to date!

Happy Friday ladies (& gents)! Let’s end the week with something a little different. I just love this Safari scheme for a relaxed, stylish wedding.  Keep everything super simple and let your surroundings create the atmosphere.  Imagine exchanging vows under a baobab tree as the African sun sets over the dusty plains.  An intimate reception held in the mess tent, lanterns and candles lighting the routes through camp.  Utterly romantic, and totally unique!

What exactly is a ‘bijoux bride’?  Well, she’s a little bit like this inspiration board!  She likes clean and contemporary style, and lots of pretty details.

This scheme is soft, yet sophisticated with subtle detailing and a gorgeous color palette. Touches of lace and pearl add a timeless quality to an otherwise modern look.  It would bring a touch of contemporary cool to a hotel wedding, or a simply dreamy atmosphere to a breezy beach wedding.
